19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard surfaces
A resurgent the Russian player secured his initial title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in specific - led to him falling of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former mentor Gilles Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.
This marks Medvedev's initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
Success also means Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his past six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
He came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, securing 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded breaks in the following set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour victory, gained dominance to create a final set.
The opponent saved four early-game chances in a tight third set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to close out the victory.
Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
